Public Involvement

Buckingham Road and Gunnery Road Roundabout Project Phase 2: Currently working in the second phase, Buckingham Road will be closed from Gunnery Road to Sunset Road beginning June 16, 2025, and is anticipated to be completed Fall 2025.

 Drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.

• Southbound Buckingham Road traffic will be redirected via a detour to Gunnery Road then turn right at Sunset Road then left back onto Buckingham Road to continue south.
• Northbound Buckingham Road traffic will be redirected via a detour to turn right onto Sunset Road, then left onto Gunnery Road to continue north onto Buckingham Road north.
• Additionally, temporary traffic signals will be installed at both the intersections of Buckingham Road and Sunset Road, as well as Gunnery Road and Sunset Road.
• Sidewalks will remain closed during this phase.
• Crews are actively working on roadway construction along Buckingham Rd.
• Crews will be installing new drainage along Gunnery Road.
• As part of the construction activities for this project, sidewalk closures will be necessary. Pedestrians are encouraged to anticipate detours and make appropriate arrangements to ensure safe and efficient travel through the project site.

Expect large construction vehicles in the area and watch for contractors in the field. The contractors will use Variable Message Boards (VMB) to notify the public about any traffic pattern changes during construction. The contractor is V & H Construction, Inc. The project is expected to be completed in one year. Work is estimated to be complete spring of 2026. Work is expected to occur Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM; however, some night and weekend work may be necessary.
